French restaurants in Silicon Valley, San Francisco cracking open bottles

The first wines of the season will be cracked open today, Nov. 16, and Bay Area Francophiles plan to celebrate the fruity Beaujolais Nouveau along with wine lovers across the pond. Here's where to get a glass: At the Left Bank brasseries in San Jose, Menlo Park and Larkspur, you can enjoy the new vintage by the glass, carafe or bottle or paired with specialty menu items such as Beaujolais-marinated beef bourguignon, cured French sausages and a pear-chocolate gateau.
