Alexie’s memoir about his relationship with his difficult mother has a power and resonance that’s hard to describe. Daring to Drive: A Saudi Woman’s Awakening, by Manal al-Sharif: Learning about al-Sharif’s life is as much a gift to the reader as is her activism against the inequalities inflicted on women in her country. , Donald Trump, and the Storming of the Presidency, by Joshua Green: A riveting read that chronicles how Trump and Bannon formed an alliance.
