A daily compilation of 49ers links from around the interwebs. Monday, March 20th, 2017 edition.
As you’ve likely heard by now, 49er great Dwight Clark has announced his diagnosis with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, an incurable disease of the nervous system. Not one to back down, Clark has pledged to fight like hell, and has garnered support of 49er teammates far and wide. Over the past decade plus, former Saint Steve Gleason has largely become the face of ALS in the sports media, and has done excellent work in raising awareness and fundraising for cause. Despite a bad situation, hopefully Clark might join up with Gleason to continue championing this cause.
In other news, Quinton Patton has received a modicum of attention in Free Agency. I’ve long been a vocal supporter of his (as Secretary of Offense of the Battlewagon), and hope to see the young man continue to build upon his career. No matter where he ends up, I’ll be wishing him well. Meanwhile, Colin Kaepernick remains jobless amidst myriad media murmurs regarding his fate. Stay tuned, sports fans!
