This year, the Arab Film Festival reaches a special milestone as it celebrates its 20th anniversary. The AFF is the largest independent annual showcase of Arab films and filmmakers in the country, and has established itself internationally as one of the most important festivals of its kind outside the Arab world. It strives to present the best contemporary films that provide insight into the beauty, complexity and diversity of the Arab world. The 20th festival opens at the Castro Theatre on October 7 and runs through October 16 throughout the Bay Area.
